Information

We started recovering and cultivating their grandfather’s old vineyard, located at nearly 900 meters above sea level on the steep terraced slopes of the Montsant mountain. These dreamy vineyards, filled with childhood memories and where wines were made in the most traditional way inspired us to farm and make wine in the most natural of ways.

We stood up for this land, not only because it is the cradle of the family but also because we knew it to be a very special place to grow vines.

Located in Vilanova de Prades (Tarragona-Spain), Inside the D.O. Conca de Barberà, on the limit and next to the Priorat region. Vega Aixalà vineyards lay on the same geological fault of “Llicorella” (slate rock) for which Priorat Region became so well know.

Because Vega Aixalà vineyards are located at nearly 900 meters above sea level, where the climate is realy dry, they are rather safe from well know vineyard diseases like mildew or other fungic calamities.

Located at nearly 900 meters above sea level on the steep terraced slopes of the Montsant mountain, in a wonderful landscape surrounded by Serra la Llena and Serra de Prades (Catalogne).

Organically farmed and using the recommendations of the lunar calendar in the vineyards and in the winery, wines are made with minimum intervention.

100% high altitude Tempranillo, intense in colour with violet and purple hints, smooth and silky in the mouth with intense but clean and fresh red fruits flavours and aromas.

Information

The vineyards are located at nearly 900 meters above sea level on the steep terraced slopes of the Montsant mountain, in a wonderful landscape surrounded by Serra la Llena and Serra de Prades (Catalogne).

Grapes are nourished by this unique slape soil and its dry and continental climate, with a low level of rains and extreme temperature variations between day and night.

Grapes are carefully grown, selected and hand-picked, fully respecting the land and a 100% organic agriculture, in order to produce an unforgettable and unique wine.

Our wine is the fruit of an exceptional soil, a delicate and respectful work and a huge human effort.

Sustainability Criteria

Mountain biodiversity

The presence of mountainous biodiversity is respected and supported. In our dry climate vineyards the presence of bugs and a diverse subsoil are extremely important, the reason why we not only farm organic but we go a step further and use the recommendations of the lunar calendar in the vineyards and in the winery.

We don’t either use herbicides nor insecticides in our vineyards.

Natural Philosophy

We follow a philosophy of minimum intervention, preserving the wine as natural as we can because is the way we believe things have to be done.

We love the nature and our wines are a reflection of this philosophy.

Sustainable and fair

We strive to use workers that live close to the company, as well as local suppliers, as much as possible. This plays an important role in supporting local development but also minimizing pollution by transport.

We use an electric car for all transport in the vineyards.
